How does it work?

External wall insulation (EWI) involves attaching insulation material to the exterior wall and covering it with render or cladding for a variety of finishes. It doesn't reduce floor area and enhances the wall's appearance, weatherproofing, and sound resistance.

EWI can make a home up to 45% warmer by retaining heat more efficiently. It also fills cracks, reduces draughts, extends wall lifespan, and mitigates internal condensation and damp issues.

All works undertaken by CHS are completely free of charge to the householder.

Ventilation

Alongside providing you with Solid Wall Insulation, we can also provide you with ventilation measures for free too. This will ensure that your home stays warm and free of damp and mould.

Our team will assess the correct ventilation for your property and rooms to ensure this is provided to help your home in the best way possible.

Could you be eligible for Solid Wall Insulation?

Through the GBIS or ECO4 scheme we can provide External Wall Insulation for free, but only if you are eligible!

To be eligible your household will need to meet at least one of the following criteria:

- Live in a home with a council tax band of A-D; or

- Be in receipt of an eligible income related means tested benefit; or

- Have a gross household income less than £31,000 (Subject to council/local authority sign off)

In addition to this, your home will need to have an Energy Performance Rating of D,E,F or G.
