How does it work?
Loft insulation is a layer of material (a combination of mineral fibres, cellular glass and foamed plastic) laid in your loft space that traps heat, reducing the amount of heat through the floor of the loft.
It is laid between the joists (the horizontal beams along the floor in your roof).
Up to a quarter of a home's heat can be lost through the roof space. Insulating your loft slows down the transfer of heat between your living space and the outside world.
Insulation not only warms your home in the winter, but keeps it cool in the summer.
